Asked regarding Beijing’s response to such airspace violations, Wang said China had responded “responsibly and professionally”.

The US Department of Defense has not commented on the Chinese statement.

The above information was released by China following the US announced it had shot down a Chinese hot air balloon off the coast of South Carolina on February 4.

The US then postponed a visit to Beijing by Secretary of State Antony Blinken as a response to the incident.

In response, China said the balloon was a civilian research vehicle that had flown in the wrong direction and accused the US of overreacting.

Recalling the incident, Uong said: “The first thing the US side should do is look at itself, change its ways, stop smearing and inciting confrontation.”

Recently, the US military shot down three other flying objects over North America.

Mr. Uong said he has no information regarding these three new objects.
