Philadelphia Eagles player Josh Sills was charged with rape and kidnapping on Wednesday, allegedly in December 2019, the Professional Football League (NFL) announced. The Ohio Attorney General’s Office said in a statement that Sills “undertook a sexual act that was not consensual and held the victim once morest her will”.
The 25-year-old received a court summons for Feb. 16, four days following the Super Bowl was to be played in Glendale, Arizona. Following his indictment, Sills was de facto placed on the Super Bowl Grand Finals bye list by the NFL commissioner and will therefore not be able to face the Kansas City Chiefs with his team on February 12. “He cannot play, train or travel with the Eagles until the league reviews the matter”said the body.
It’s by no means certain, however, that Sills would have made the Eagles’ Super Bowl roster, as the player has only made one appearance this season, in a win over the Minnesota Cardinals. Arizona.
