Vhe young American football players from the Mostviertel Bastards hope to be invited to the national team.

At the past sighting camps for the Austrian flag football youth national team, four of the young players drew attention to themselves. In the U17 age group, Simon Tiefenbacher, Felix Halbartschlager and Jakob Olivier impressed with their performances and were invited to the next round.

In the U15 class, Fabio Luca Laslo could recommend himself. The big goal of the young talents is to take part in the Next Generation Bowl in Vienna in November and in the next European Flag Football Youth Championship in 2023.

After the short summer break, the Bastards were also happy about the reinforcement in the coaching staff. Training has been going on again since mid-August. The reinforcement is called Gerhard Hochreiter. In addition to his active playing career in St. Pölten, Amstetten and Linz, he was involved as a youth coach in the respective clubs and made it to the point of wide receiver coach and special teams coordinator in the Austrian national team.

He then moved abroad, where he coached in the German Football League, the Czech Premier League and even NFL Europe. Most recently he was active with the Huskies Wels. The Bastards could hardly wish for more experience on and off the field for their team. With the Mostviertler, he slips into the role of wide receiver and quarterback coach as well as offensive coordinator.
