This Sunday, April 23, an American Airlines Boeing caught fire following colliding with a bird. An incident that forced the device to return to its starting point.

False start for the passengers of this plane, which took off on April 23 from Columbus airport in Ohio in the United States. The American Airlines aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, was indeed forced to turn around and did not reach its destination, Phoenis, Arizona, due to an incident, caused by the collision with a bird.

No injuries, impressive images

The Parisian says that the animal and the device collided, causing a fire in one of the plane’s engines. The pilot, who had some 173 passengers on board, therefore turned back shortly following takeoff. No passenger was injured.

Videos of the wing in flames are shared on social networks. On the other hand, it is easy to imagine the fright of the first passengers on the porthole side, who noticed that there was a fire on a reactor.

This is not the first time such an incident has occurred. West France recalls that a similar fire took place three days before, on another American Airlines plane, just before takeoff.
