American actress Joyce Randolph, star of the American social comedy series “Honeymooners”, who played Ed Norton’s sarcastic wife Trixie, has died at the age of 99.

The death occurred from natural causes yesterday evening, at her home on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, as her son, Randolph Charles, explained to the Associated Press today.

Joyce was the last surviving main character star of the sitcom that marked the golden age of American television in the 1950s.

The series starred comedian Jackie Gleason as the loud bus driver Ralph Kramden.

With him were Audrey Meadows as his wise, reserved wife, and Art Carney and Joyce Randolph as their neighbors, Ed and Trixie Norton.

Even following fifty years or more of playing Trixie, Joyce still had many admirers, receiving dozens of letters every week.
