The American space agency NASA has announced to build a railway station on the moon. This railway will be fully functional and will help in providing quality transport facility in future.
According to the American media, interest in the moon is increasing worldwide. Extraordinary advances in technologies have made moon missions easier. It may be possible to put a man on the moon tomorrow. In such a case, there will also be a need for transport facilities.
The railway station that NASA has decided to build on the moon will certainly be fully functional, but the train will not be like the one found on Earth. This train called flagible levitation on a track will be under magnetic levitation system. A three-layer flexible film track will be laid for this. These trains will actually be energy-free magnetic robots that will float on a layer of graphite. For this they will use diamagnetic levitation technique.
NASA has stated that these robots will remain in the atmosphere to avoid flying debris and obsolescence if they touch the surface of the Earth. Unlike other lunar robots, they will have legs and not wheels.
