Today, the Supreme Council of Universities approved a draft decision of the Prime Minister to amend Article (168) of the executive regulations of the Universities Organization Law, related to the number of years of study at the Faculty of Pharmacy, and to replace the article with the following text: “The study period for obtaining a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy (Pharm D) is five years. study followed by a year of compulsory training in work sites determined by the Supreme Council of University Hospitals and approved by the Supreme Council of Universities.
The Council also approved the approval of the Prime Minister’s draft decision to amend Article (154) of the Universities Organization Law, and replace it with the following text: “The study period for obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery is five academic years with the system of approved hours or points, followed by two years of compulsory training in the work sites that he determines.” The Supreme Council of University Hospitals and approved by the Supreme Council of Universities.
The Council approved the proposal for a unified regulation for the year of compulsory training (internship) for pharmacists, which will be implemented for the first time, following the end of the next academic year 2023/2024.
The council also approved the restructuring of the teacher preparation program in the colleges of education in light of the tendency to increase the period of field training in basic education schools. To provide students with the skills they need to meet the needs of the labor market.
The Council approved the enrollment of public university students – who have exhausted their failure times – in universities of technology, as well as transfer from a public university to a technological university, while adhering to the relevant rules and regulations to ensure serious enrollment in technological universities.
