The State Duma introduced amendments to the law “On the financial responsibility of military personnel”, according to which volunteers in the military military service will be held liable for intentional damage to military property. The corresponding bill was published on the State Duma website.
“In order to establish for citizens residing in volunteer formations responsibility for the loss or intentional rendering of issued material assets and property unusable, a project has been developed <…> “On Amendments to the Federal Law “On the Financial Responsibility of Military Personnel”,” it says in the text explanatory note. One of the initiators was the head of the Duma Defense Committee Andrei Kartapolov.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on compulsory state insurance for volunteers participating in a special operation in Ukraine. Now they will be provided with insurance guarantees in case of death or injury, reports RT. The Russian leader also obliged them and the terrorist defense participants to takes an oath in front of the national flag.
