“Good. There are no mask mandates”, King pointed out during his speech, to go on to say that “My children will not come to school on Monday with a mask on. That is not going to happen and I will bring all weapons loaded and ready.”

The woman might not continue with her warnings for exceeding the limit of 3 minutes granted to each person; however, he warned that “see you on Monday”.

The event followed an order from the Governor of Virginia, Glenn Youngkin, which allows parents to choose whether their children will study with or without a mask.

According to the Luray Police Department, the woman was charged with making an oral threat while on school property. King herself turned herself in to authorities and was released hours later on $5,000 bail.

“The safety of students and school staff is our number one priority, we are working diligently with the Page County School Board to ensure that the appropriate measures are in place for their safety,” Indian.

However, the department, along with the Page County Sheriff’s Office and Page County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office, continue to actively investigate the incident.

The police statement allowed some parents to comment on their outrage following King’s release.

“It was a terrorist threat”, a woman wrote. “I’m not surprised they’re not treating him as such, but he should have been arrested immediately.”

“She threatened violence at a school on Monday. A bomb threat, made under the same circumstances, would be grounds for arrest. The threat is made, that’s the crime.” another user reported.

On the other hand, Antonia Fox, Page County Superintendent, issued a statement in which she noted that the school division “don’t take these kinds of statements lightly” and is working with the authorities on the matter.
