Rumors that AMD is going to release updated graphics cards of the Radeon RX 6000 series began to circulate back in January of this year. Today portal VideoCardz shared images of new products in the reference version and named the timing of their announcement. It is reported that AMD will release at least three graphics accelerators that are upgraded versions of current models: Radeon RX 6950 XT, Radeon RX 6750 XT, and Radeon RX 6650 XT.
Information regarding video cards is still scarce. In the reference version, the cards will receive a new look, borrowed from a special version of the Radeon RX 6800 XT Midnight Black accelerator, which AMD released last April. Its distinguishing feature is an all-black color scheme, instead of the silver/black of the original cards.
An interesting detail of the Radeon RX 6650 XT model will be a new dual-fan cooling system. Recall that the reference Radeon RX 6600 XT uses a cooler with a single fan. And the Radeon RX 6750 XT model will have a cooling system with three fans instead of two, as was the case with the Radeon RX 6700 XT.
At the moment, it is known that all three updated video cards will receive faster GDDR6 memory with a bandwidth of 18 Gb / s. In current versions, GDDR6 memory operates at a speed of 16 Gb / s. There is no information regarding the frequencies of the GPUs of the updated video cards yet. But it is noted that all of them are likely to receive a higher maximum power consumption figure. For the current reference versions of the Radeon RX 6600 XT, Radeon RX 6700 XT and Radeon RX 6900 XT, it is 160, 230 and 300 watts, respectively.
According to the source, the original release of the updated models of the Radeon RX 6000 video cards was supposed to be on April 20. However, according to new data, it was postponed to May 10.
