AMD Shows Comparative Screenshots of Deathloop with FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0 Technology at Different Resolutions

AMD recently introduced technology , it showcased temporal zooming and showed some comparison screenshots in 4K resolution of Deathloop by Arkane, the first game to support the updated FidelityFX Super resolution.

And so, users have expressed a desire to test FSR 2.0 in action at lower resolutions, such as 1440p and 1080p. AMD complied with this desire by providing an extensive set of comparison screenshots of the main FSR 2.0 modes running in 4K, 1440p и 1080p.

Deathloop screenshots were taken on a PC equipped with an AMD Ryzen 9 5950X processor, 32GB DDR4 RAM, an AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT graphics accelerator, Windows 10 Pro, graphics set to “ultra quality”.

You may notice some missing objects in FSR 2.0 screenshots 1080p. According to AMD, this is because the game itself does not display small objects at long distances when the internal resolution is set to 720p or lower, which is the case when FSR 2.0 is enabled with a target output resolution of 1080p.

Deathloop also offers an additional “ultra performance” FSR 2.0 mode, though AMD didn’t show it off in the comparison images. According to the GDC 2022 presentation, the “ultra performance” mode can provide up to 147% improved frame times at 4K resolution with ray tracing enabled.

As a result, AMD announced that it is getting closer to the release of FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0. First games like Deathloop should be available later this quarter, so stay tuned for updates.
