AMD promises to introduce Ryzen 7000 desktop processors before the end of September

Preliminary description of the characteristics and capabilities of the Ryzen 7000 (Raphael) family processors with Zen 4 architecture in Socket AM5 by AMD did back at the end of May, but so far she has spoken vaguely about the timing of their entry into the market, mentioning only the autumn of this year. From unofficial sources, it was known that the market debut of new 5nm chips could take place in September, and at the last quarterly event, AMD management announced its intention to release them before the end of the quarter.

The fiscal quarter in the company’s reporting almost coincides with the calendar quarter, so the current three-month period will end at the end of September. Accordingly, before the end of next month, AMD gets the opportunity to introduce the Ryzen 7000 processor family without violating its obligations. Tomorrow evening, as you can see from the invitation on AMD’s website, the company will hold a seminar for retailers dedicated to Socket AM5 motherboards. Representatives of motherboard manufacturers will take part in it as speakers.

AMD CEO Lisa Su made a reference to the timing of the announcement of the Ryzen 7000 processors in the prepared part of her speech at the quarterly reporting conference. She is stated: “We are on track to announce all-new 5nm desktop processors Ryzen 7000 and platforms AM5 later this quarter, which will provide leadership in gaming performance and content creation.”.

According to the results of the year, as the head of the company explains, revenue in the PC segment may decrease not by 8-9%, as previously thought, but by all 14-16%. In the fourth quarter, the company hopes to see consistent growth in the PC segment, counting on increased demand due to the introduction of its new 5nm products to the market, including graphics solutions. Correction of the forecast for the capacity of the PC market this year implies a reduction in the figure to 290 or 300 million units. According to Lisa Su, the company adequately assesses the current situation in the PC market.
