AMD has the driver ready for the Ryzen 7000X3D to surpass Intel

Just yesterday we were talking regarding the benefits of AMD’s asymmetric design for its new Ryzen 7000X3D and today a new leak reveals what is to come in just 3 days. And yes, it is a new optimized driver with a key component as it already happened with that version last year focused on the Ryzen 7 5800X3D. The curious thing is that AMD has not officially released itbut it’s already available for download, so hopefully this driver is launched for all chipset AMD when the Ryzen 7000X3D show your performance.

Given the performance problems in Windows 11 with the allocation of resources for the different CCD and CCX, where curiously the Ryzen 5 7600X managed in many cases to match its older brothers, this new WHQL driver is not only expected to support the new processors, but to correct the named problems along the way.

AMD Chipset Driver 5.01.29.2026 WHQL, optimized for Ryzen 7000X3D with 3D V-Cache

The leaked reveals a new version for a very specific section of the driver, to be specific, the “Controlador 3D V-Cache Performance Optimizer”which updates to 1.0.0.7. The previous update, 1.0.0.3, dates from April last year, so this new version is very important to improve both the performance of the Ryzen 7 5800X3D and to alleviate possible problems that the Ryzen 7000X3D may encounter with Windows 11.

The update is due to the asymmetry of chiplets that these new processors have, where a single CCD obtains the much sought following 3D V-Cache. Logically, only two of the three processors are going to benefit from this, the Ryzen 9 7950X y el Ryzen 9 7900X3Dthe first with 16 Cores and the second with 12.

The reasons are the constant problems that Microsoft and AMD have faced due to the new Windows kernel and how it was not capable of assigning resources and priority according to the CCD, something that might be repeated once more given the problems of the Ryzen 7 5800X3D.

It is not an official driver (yet) but it is ready for download

And not because AMD has made it available to us as such, but that said download comes from one of its partners, specifically ASRock, and to be completely specific, it has been done in the support area of their X670E Taichi Carrara.

The curious thing with this driver is that it only appears available for Windows 11, at least on the ASRock website, but in the leaked patch notes it does specify for Windows 10 and the named OS, so it seems that they share both the Operating System and the OS. installation package.

Likewise, only owners of a Ryzen 7 5800X3D will be able to test it and comment on their experiences on both Operating Systems, because Ryzen 7000X3D processors will not be available until 28 of this month of February.

We will see if, indeed, AMD hits the table in a key section such as the games that did not require more L3 cache due to their lower graphic impact, such as e-Sports and other widely played titles such as CS:GO o Dota 2, to give a few of the many examples. And it is that here Intel came out winning for its higher clocks, something that may not occur this time precisely because of the asymmetric design of these Ryzen 7000X3D.
