AMD FSR3 Ready For Radeon RX 5700, GeForce RTX 20 GPUs, Coming This Fall The long-awaited FSR3 update is finally here. AMD has officially announced support for their latest upscaling technology in several titles. The new version of FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR), known as FSR3, introduces a feature called “Fluid Motion Frames” which is equivalent to AMD’s DLSS3 Frame Generation. The technology was originally announced in January of this year, but AMD has taken longer than expected to reveal more details. AMD provided a list of games that support FSR3, including Forspoken (used for demos), Immortals of Aveum, Avatar: Frontiers – Pandora, and Cyberpunk 2077. However, Starfield is not mentioned. * Click the image to open in another window/tab. AMD showcases the capabilities of the FSR3 with ‘Forspoken’ running at the 4K Ultra High RT preset. With the FSR3 performance preset, the game’s framerate jumped from 36FPS to 122FPS, a roughly 3.4x improvement. AMD has yet to reveal full details on FSR quality settings and support for Radeon and other GPU models. There is also a new mode with Native Antialiasing implemented in FSR3. Here AMD shows an improvement of 64-106 FPS. AMD has confirmed that FSR3 works with Radeon RX 7000, 6000 and earlier GPUs. The company also confirmed that FSR3 will be supported by other GPU vendors and consoles as well. AMD has provided the chart below explaining which cards are supported and which GPUs are recommended. This doesn’t mean FSR3 won’t work with other slower GPUs, it just means it’s not recommended and optimized. Graphics cards below GTX 1000 also support FSR3 upscaling, but not frame generation technology. AMD has officially confirmed that the FSR is coming soon, but unfortunately they have yet to reveal a specific launch date other than saying it will launch this fall. Source: Videocardz.com – AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 3 (FSR3) is launching this fall Explanation: Information regarding FSR3 has finally flowed. I was wondering if FSR3 is the same technology as DLSS2, but since it is to generate frames, it is equivalent to DLSS3. I was a little surprised by this. Frame generation is supported by RX5700 or higher GPU, only upscaling is supported by RX590 or higher GPU, and of course Geforce is also supported. I don’t know what will happen to Starfield, but AMD-sponsored games may only be compatible with FSR3 in the future. However, users have released DLSS compatible mods even in old Bezesta games, so if you really want it to be compatible with DLSS, you can negotiate with the manufacturer and collect funds with Kurafan. I don’t think so. As I wrote before, if it only supports DLSS, it will be completely surrounded by nVIDIA, but FSR supports other companies’ products, so there is no particular problem. It is not mentioned whether FSR3 will be released as open source, but at least FSR2 is compatible with Intel products, so if FSR spreads, a freer world awaits.
