A member of AMD, Sasa Marinkovic, reminds on Twitter to those who wish to acquire a GPU with a lot of VRAM without breaking the bank, that they should look at the side of the Radeon RX 6000 and RX 7000: across the Atlantic, the RX 6800 costs less than $500.
The 12 GB of VRAM of the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti / GeForce RTX 4070 and the 8 GB of the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti / RTX 4060 are, according to your comments, prohibitive for some players. In fact, more and more recent games such as Hogwarts Legacy, Forspoken or Star Wars: Jedi Survivor have quite high VRAM requirements, starting at 1440p. In a tweet, Sasa Marinkovic, who is AMD’s Product Marketing Manager for EMAA (Europe Middle East & Africa), is aimed directly at customers on a moderate budget who wish to acquire a GPU with a lot of VRAM: it informs them that there are now Radeons with 16 GB of dedicated video memory offered at 499 dollars.
AMD is always more inclined to promote its Radeon RX 6000s than its two Radeon RX 7000s, and Sasa Marinkovic’s statement regarding the $500 is of course for RDNA 2 graphics cards (the Radeon RX 7900 XT had a recommended price of $899 at its release but now sells from $762). The promise of a graphics card with 16 GB of VRAM applies to the Radeon RX 6800. This reference can even be found from 469 dollars on Newegg. In France, the Radeon RX 6800 is rare. The lowest price we found is 589 euros. Only on Amazon, there are Radeon RX 6800 XT from 579 euros. Naturally, at the same price, this one, more efficient, is to be preferred.

Waiting for other Radeon RX 7000s…
On the NVIDIA supply side, you have to type in the GeForce RTX 3090 or RT 4080 to have a GPU with 16 GB of VRAM. GeForce RTX 3090 stocks are low and the few cards available are trading at rock bottom now; the GeForce RTX 4080 can be found from around 1270 euros.
Launched in November 2020, the Radeon RX 6800 and RX 6800 XT are of course still excellent graphics cards for gaming without ray tracing. For those who are willing to drop a hundred euros more, the GeForce RTX 4070 is however an alternative to consider, despite its lower amount of VRAM. Finally, for those who want to stay true to the reds but don’t have such large sums to invest in a GPU, AMD will launch a Radeon RX 7600 with 8 GB of VRAM at the end of May; remains to be seen at what price.
