“Our paramedics decided to request assistance from a Mobile Emergency and Resuscitation Service (SMUR). This medical team tried to infuse the patient, but he pushed everyone away. They then tried to make him inhale a painkiller instead. He then threw all the equipment of the SMUR on the ground”, continued the spokesperson. “The individual pushed everyone away once more, he made death threats and scratched an ambulance driver until he bled on the chest, ripping off his polo shirt. Our colleague also received his finger in the eye. has a corneal injury. He was taken to Saint-Pierre Hospital for treatment,” explained Walter Derieuw. “The police then intervened to subdue the aggressive man.” The Brussels SIAMU and the injured paramedic will file a complaint in this case and file a civil action with the Brussels public prosecutor’s office, announced the SIAMU.
