Documents circulating before the American judiciary revealed new details in the relationship between the famous American actor Johnny Depp and his wife, actress Amber Heard, in light of the former’s allegations that he was subjected to violence and physical abuse at the hands of his wife.
Johnny Depp asked the court to obtain compensation of up to 50 million dollars from his wife, as a result of what he claimed were damages he suffered during their years of marriage.
However, the case took a different turn, following Amber Heard’s lawyer filed documents accusing Johnny Depp of violence once morest his ex-wife, who separated from him following a two-year marriage in 2017.
The evidence provided by Amber Heard’s lawyer included a photo of a phone conversation between Johnny Depp and one of his friends, British actor Paul Bettany, in which Depp said, “Let’s burn Amber.” For joy, I’m also not sure if she’s a witch,” referring to Depp’s belief that his wife used witchcraft.
In a related context, Amber Heard’s lawyer confirmed that he would provide the court with evidence indicating that Johnny Depp committed many acts of violence in the hotels where he usually resided, in light of his sometimes breaking furniture.
And Johnny Depp had said before a US court, in response to the accusations leveled once morest him by Heard, that she had lost him “everything” and was beating him. “When Mrs. Heard was frustrated and angry, she would resort to beatings,” Depp added during the second day of the trial in Fairfax, near Washington, DC, to consider a defamation suit he brought once morest Heard.
He pointed out that violence “can start with a slap or a push,” adding, “She threw me a remote-controlled TV and hit me in the head, and she also threw a glass of wine in my face,” stressing that the actress “wanted a quarrel and violence.” Quoted by “AFP”.
The two ex-spouses exchange defamation charges during this media-watched and televised trial, following Heard published an article in the Washington Post in 2018 in which she described herself as a “victim of domestic violence.”
