Amber Heard became emotional during her statement in court

American actress Amber Heard on Wednesday became overwhelmed while testifying in court about the alleged physical abuse by her ex-husband Johnny Depp.

According to Reuters, Heard testified for the first time in the defamation lawsuit filed by Depp, saying that their relationship was “magical” to the point of greatness but later turned “violent.”

Amber Heard told the court that Johnny Depp ‘first physically assaulted her when he found out about Depp’s obscure tattoo.’

She said Depp replied ‘Vino’ and she laughed thinking it was a joke.

Heard said: ‘Depp then slapped me in the face. I didn’t know what was going on. I just kept looking at them.’

He told the court: ‘He slapped me twice more and said you think this is a joke, bitch.’

Depp, 58, testified earlier in the trial that he ‘never hit Heard, she was the one who abused him.’

The ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star is suing the 36-year-old Heard for $50 million, saying he defamed her over ‘domestic violence’. Heard has filed a $10 million countersuit against Depp, claiming that Depp has ‘insulted’ her by calling her a ‘liar’.

During Wednesday’s hearing, a teary-eyed Heard said she stayed with Depp through it all only because ‘she wanted to believe his apologies and his promises that he would never hit her.’

But Heard said Depp assaulted her again ‘several times’. ‘Usually when they were drinking or using drugs.’

Heard alleges that during a weekend argument with friends in May 2013, ‘Depp not only tore off her dress, but even to her underwear and put his fingers ‘inside’ her.” .’

Psychiatrist Don Hughes previously testified that Heard had told him that ‘Johnny Depp put his fingers in his private parts to look for cocaine.’

A day earlier, on Tuesday, the American judge hearing the defamation lawsuit filed by Johnny Depp against his ex-wife Amber Heard rejected the defense lawyer’s request to dismiss the case.

Lawyers for the 36-year-old actress asked Judge Penny Azcarate to dismiss the case after Depp’s lawyers finished their case after three weeks of testimony in Fairfax County Circuit Court.

Amber Heard’s lawyers claim that Depp has failed to prove that she was defamed by an article published in the Washington Post in December 2018. The article described Heard as a ‘domestic violence public figure’.

Heard’s lawyer, Ben Rotenborn, said the court should grant the motion to dismiss the case because there is undisputed evidence that Depp himself was ‘in fact abusing Amber’.

Depp’s lawyer, Benjamin Chew, denied the request to the judge, claiming that ‘the abuser in this courtroom is Heard herself.’

According to The Independent, the 36-year-old actress has played supporting roles in several Hollywood films as well as the ‘DC’ superhero franchise. She was seen in the lead role in Aquaman.

They have a one-year-old daughter named Onig who was born in 2021 through a surrogate mother.

Heard also identifies as bisexual and dated photographer Tasia Van Ree before her marriage to Depp.

Hurd grew up with her parents and younger sister Whitney in a farming area outside of the Texas town of Austin.

At age 17, she moved to Los Angeles after being spotted by a Hollywood agent and worked several part-time jobs while attending auditions.

He played small roles in several television series, including Jack and Bobby, The Mountain, and the drama The O.C., and made his film debut in 2004 with Friday Night Lights.

**Sarah Thompson:** Absolutely, ‌it’s a⁣ high-profile case that has captivated audiences around the world. As of now, Amber Heard has testified about ⁣her experiences ⁣during her relationship with Johnny Depp, alleging that⁣ he ‍was physically abusive toward her. Depp has countersued for⁣ defamation, claiming‍ Heard’s ‍statements have damaged‌ his reputation ‍and career.

**Interviewer:** During her testimony, Heard described the⁢ relationship as ”magical” until⁣ it turned violent. What impact do you think her emotional testimony will have on the jury?

**Sarah Thompson:** Emotional testimony can be very compelling and influential in a ⁢jury’s⁣ decision-making. Heard’s descriptions of the alleged abuse, ‍particularly her ⁤tearful recounting of incidents, play a crucial role in establishing⁤ her credibility. It’s ⁣designed to evoke empathy, and if the jury relates to her experience, it could sway their perception.

**Interviewer:** On the other hand, Depp maintains that he never ⁤hit Heard and⁤ claims she was the one who abused him. How does this contradiction‌ affect the‍ case?

**Sarah Thompson:** The stark contradiction between Depp’s and Heard’s accounts complicates the trial significantly. ⁣The jury‌ will have to navigate these opposing narratives and determine who‌ they find ⁤more credible. The presence of corroborating evidence, such as‍ texts, ⁢photographs, or witness testimonies, will be⁢ critical‌ in establishing the⁢ truth.

**Interviewer:** ‌Heard’s legal team⁢ attempted to have the case dismissed, which the judge denied. What does this suggest about the judge’s view on the case?

**Sarah Thompson:** The judge’s decision to deny the ⁤motion to ‍dismiss indicates that she believes ⁢there ⁣is enough evidence for the case to ‍move forward. It shows ⁢her confidence that the jury should have the opportunity⁣ to hear all the evidence and ‌arguments⁢ before⁤ reaching a⁣ conclusion.

**Interviewer:** Lastly, how do you ‌think this trial’s ⁤outcome could impact both Depp’s and Heard’s careers moving⁢ forward?

**Sarah Thompson:** This trial is already affecting both their public images significantly. ⁣Depending on the outcome, it could either rehabilitate Depp’s career or further damage it,⁢ while Heard’s career might ‍similarly be‌ influenced by⁤ how the public perceives her⁢ through‌ this process.
