Amber Heard almost lost her role in Aquaman, but not because of the scandal with her ex-husband

Head of DC Films at Warner Bros. Walter Hamada testified in court between former spouses Johnny Depp and Amber Heard.

He commented on the actress’s statements that her role in the Aquaman 2 comic book severely cut following ex-husband accused her of slanderand his fans became create petitions regarding removing the artist from the superhero franchise.

The studio manager confirmed that the rumors regarding replacing the actress did indeed take place in the offices of Warner Bros., but her trial with Johnny Depp over domestic violence has nothing to do with it. According to him, the filmmakers were not satisfied with the fact that heroine Amber Heard there was no on-screen chemistry with Jason Momoa’s character. According to the comics, they are in love, but in the first film they are more like buddies who went on a dangerous adventure.

“They didn’t have a lot of chemistry together,” Hamada said. “They were able to artificially make this relationship work in the first film, but we had concerns that it took too much effort. You’ll understand it when you look, there was no chemistry there.”

According to the head, the actress really wanted to be replaced, as a result, the contract was signed with her a few weeks later than planned.

It was previously reported that Jason Momoa insisted onto keep Amber on the project. But now the actress fears that her presence in the sequel will be severely curtailed. Whether this is so, the audience will find out in December 2022, when the premiere of the film is scheduled.
