So what’s up with the latest major PS4 exclusive? The result is rather mixed. On the one hand the title, visually solid, exudes a change of scenery on all floors and its environments just waiting to be explored. Everything is further supported by a wind-guided GPS system which, if not flawless, has the merit of making the player look ahead rather than a mini-map. But it is following a few hours that we feel something wobbly. Already at the level of the fights, some surprising choices, such as the impossibility of seeing the number of ammunition of certain weapons at a glance, weigh down the whole. Especially the fights, they are a little too much at the heart of Ghost of Tsushima. Almost all of the missions, whether secondary or main, require cleaning up in a camp, which the player will already have ample opportunity to do during his walks. The whole thing is not helped by the writing, rather poor and mechanical, which nevertheless contains some flashes (in particular with regard to the slow transformation of Jin, the hero). In short, we very often do the same thing and what we are told there is not exciting. A slight bitter taste emerges, which fades when the title leaves us with our hands free but which returns when we fall back on a quest or yet another camp to clean. The game of Sucker Punch is nonetheless pleasant to browse and complete (15 hours in a straight line for the main quest). But it’s not a slap. Rather a hand stretched out towards feudal Japan that we will gladly accept.

Detroit: Become Human is the synthesis of all the knowledge that Quantic Dream has been developing for 20 years in its field. With a high-flying achievement, a breathless pace and above all, a simply bewildering amount of variables, which will make you see whole parts of the game or not, Detroit keeps its promise to leave it up to the player to write his story. Sometimes epic, often touching and dramatic, Detroit only lacks a little more finesse in the writing and a little more personal treatment of the theme of singularity to fully take off. It remains, however, an excellent experience that we recommend that you do and redo to capture all the depth and all the nuances. A great success and a real demonstration of strength.

Although the Dark Knight still sits at the top of the superhero video game adaptation, Insomniac’s Spider-Man already foreshadows a bright future for the franchise and by extension the Weaver fans. Fitting perfectly into the mold of the latest Sony productions, the title of the Californians caused a sensation at all levels. Beautiful, playable, exciting, surprising, even moving, Spider-Man turns out to be the game that all fans have been waiting for. From a formula that one might have thought eroded, the developers have indeed designed a balanced game, enjoyable and providing an immense feeling of freedom and power. It is clear that biting into the Big Apple has never been so delicious and if several glitches are indeed visible, we are already looking forward to the new picking which will have to be even tastier. We trust Insomniac, which seems to have understood everything regarding the character, having grasped all its essence, as was the case a few years ago with Rocksteady and a certain Batman.

Horizon Forbidden West dans sa version collector

Building on an already very good first episode, Horizon Forbidden West hits the stars, becoming a true culmination for the Guerrilla Games studio formula but also for the “classic” open world genre in general. Fascinating from start to finish, with a universe with sumptuous artistic direction, better written and directed, and more engaging from the point of view of combat and exploration, the title is almost irreproachable on everything that he undertakes, showing attention to detail at every moment. In addition, Horizon Forbidden West even has the luxury of being both excellent on PS5, PS4 Pro but also PS4 Fat, thanks to exemplary cross-generation work. We can only regret a final conclusion that was a little quickly dispatched, and a lack of major new features. Not enough to spoil the wonderful adventure that awaits in the forbidden West. A truly exceptional title.
