Amazon’s video game division has provided some information about this new project.
Amazon Games and studio Crystal Dynamics have reached an agreement to make a new Tomb Raider game. Crystal Dynamics will develop the game while Amazon Games will handle worldwide publishing.
In one communiqué, Amazon Games has provided some information about this new Tomb Raider. The game will be a narrative single-player adventure that follows the story of the Tomb Raider trilogy. It will take up all the elements that made the success of the saga: exploration of territories, solving puzzles or even fighting enemies. The game will be made with the Unreal Engine 5 graphics engine in order to offer “the biggest and most expansive of all Tomb Raider games”. Finally, the game will be cross-platform and is currently in early development.
This announcement is interesting for fans of the Tomb Raider saga, but it is also interesting for the video game market. Indeed, during the last Game Awards, Amazon Games announced that they were going to distribute the triple AAA Blue Protocol game in Europe. Now, Amazon Games therefore intends to publish another triple AAA game with this new Tomb Raider. With these announcements, Amazon’s video game division is gradually positioning itself as a relatively important new player in the video game market.
