Little by little, intelligent assistants are becoming more useful. Some of the world’s largest companies are preparing the next big thing. The next step in this technological race is robots, and Amazon has already launched its proposal: Astro.
With a compact design and artificial intelligence at its disposal, Astro is on a mission to monitor your home and loved ones, even when you’re away from home.
This little robot has wheels, a screen, cameras (including a periscope that you can adjust) and several sensors that allow it to move around avoiding all possible obstacles.
This commercial shows us some of its possible uses:
How do I get an Amazon Astro?
Although it has already gone on sale, it is still not easy to get hold of the Amazon robot. For now it is available in the program Day 1 Editionsonly by invitation to people who expressed interest in acquiring it.
It is marked as having limited quantities, so not all requests will get their Astro in this first wave. It will only ship to addresses in the 50 US states and is priced at $1599.99. (plus the corresponding taxes).
With the purchase of the robot, a 30-day trial of the subscription service is included. Ring Protect Prowhich will allow Astro, among other things, to save videos of its tours for six months in the cloud.
They will also give you a month of Alexa Together, which is designed to help the relatives of people such as older adults; who, although living on their own, may need to be sent reminders, manage their shopping lists or send activity reports, but can maintain their independence.
Astro can display entertainment content on your screen, video calls, and have multiple alarms and give personalized reminders to specific people.
