Amazon Alexa – switch light time-controlled (Germany)

It seems like the latest Alexa featurethe Switch light on or off time-controlled, now also starts directly in Germany. There is feedback from different users with different devices. Not only can the light be switched on and off at a certain time or in XX minutes.

Alexa, turn off the lights in 5 minutes

We already reported regarding the new function: Alexa can now turn off lights in the US with a time delay. But now it seems to be right in Deutschland to start, as a user in the social networks reports. Josef explained the function to me, because I myself have not yet been able to use this voice command.

Since there are more and more users who can use this function on different devices, it shouldn’t be long before it works everywhere. It is also nice that not only can the light be time-controlled via Alexa, but also sockets to which other consumers can be attached.

You can use Alexa to switch your light on a timer basis

Amazon uses an Alexa timer for the time-controlled switching of the light. As soon as you give a command, a timer starts, which is then displayed visually in the Alexa app or on an Echo Show. In this way, you can see the remaining time and, if necessary, interrupt the command later.

If you want to test it, just try one of the following commands:

  • Alexa, turn on the lights at 7 p.m
  • Alexa, turn off the floor lamp in 2 minutes
  • Alexa, turn off Office in a minute

If this new function is not yet available to you, the light will switch on or off directly. Or are you one of the lucky ones who can already use it? I find a very exciting and useful feature that was long overdue! How do you find timed Alexa commands? Write me in the comments below.
