The strangles ate a small alligator. At five feet (1.5 meters) tall, the prey’s size is a good third that of the snake. The carcass is in good condition and was probably eaten by the Burmese python shortly before. It is not known whether the plentiful prey is to blame for the death of the snake or whether it had another cause.
