The Indonesian contingent is getting closer to its medal target at the 2024 Paris Paralympics. One gold and one silver medal are already within reach thanks to the realization of the All Indonesian Final in the para badminton sport.

Indonesian representatives successfully dominated the mixed doubles category SL3 – SU5 at the 2024 Paralympics. The pairs Fredy Setiawan-Khalimatus Sadiyah and Hikmat Ramdani-Leani Ratri Oktila performed well in the semifinals.

Official news received by Media Indonesia from NPC Indonedia in Paris stated that Fredy – Khalimatus successfully advanced to the final after defeating the French representative, Lucas Mazur-Faustine Noel in two straight sets, 21-15, 21-15, on Sunday (1/9/2024) early morning WIB.

Meanwhile, Hikmat-Ratri defeated Thailand’s representatives, Siripong Teamarrom-Nipada Seandupa also in two straight sets 21-12, 21-8.

The success of realizing the All Indonesia Final made the Indonesian contingent automatically succeed in collecting one gold medal and two silver medals. Another silver medal has been contributed by para-athlete, Saptoyogo Purnomo.

Chef de Mission (CdM) Indonesia, Reda Manthovani, appreciated the struggle of Indonesian athletes who continue to pursue the target of one gold, two silver and three bronze medals. The success of the mixed doubles pair must be used as motivation for athletes who are still fighting in Paris.
