According to observers of this artistic genre, the development of Moroccan Amazigh theater is due to the interest shown by actors in the theatrical art (directors, interpreters, technicians and playwrights) in the importance of the mesh between the art and the aspect of identity, which has contributed to the richness and diversity of Amazigh theatrical experiences.
In this state of mind, the Casablanca Festival of Amazigh Theater, which celebrated its 5th candle this year, was organized from September 7 to 11, 2022). This edition was marked by diversified theater presentations (more than 20 presentations) which took place in the cities of El Jadida, Settat and Casablanca.
This edition was also illustrated by the organization of two symposiums on “the language in the Amazigh theater” and “the organization of professional theater”, in addition to a mobile Amazigh book fair exhibiting titles published by the Royal Institute of Amazigh Culture (IRCAM).
