Amazfit GPR 3 Pro Analysis Price Features If you are looking for a different smartwatch, take a look | TECHNOLOGY

Since they became more and more intelligent and popular, I have had the opportunity to try smartwatches of different brands. And although it may seem that they are already reaching their innovation ceiling, there is always room to offer something more. That is what -following several days of testing- this Amazfit GTR 3 Pro left me.

The brand may not be familiar to you, but it has been around the international market for some time and, relatively recently, its products can be found locally. In particular, it is the first device of the brand that I have been able to try and the experience has been quite positive.

In my opinion, customization, performance and autonomy are the three pillars of the offer of this Asian brand. In this brief review, I am going to tell you regarding my experience with that new smartwatch.

What I liked

Without being completely spectacular, its simple and uncomplicated design makes a noticeable difference. The expected: buttons and microphone on the right edge, and on the left the speakers. Yes because allows you to answer voice calls without using the phone.

I liked the delicate way the watch case integrates with the screen. This last one is AMOLED, with enough brightness and a lot of detail. It is large (1.45″) and the display and navigation on it are quite comfortable. The crown allows you to turn it to navigate between the different options, while the watch vibrates slightly. Very well implemented. The key there is to program the buttons for shortcuts.

Use the Zepp app that allows quick synchronization with the mobile device and the possibility of a lot of customization (for example, it has more than 150 covers available, many of them animated). The watch uses Zepp OS which is quite simple, but very intuitive.

It has a series of sensors that allow the recording of different values, which today have become the bare minimum for a smart watch: heart rate, amount of oxygen in the blood, sleep monitoring, stress control, rhythm of breathing, among others.

An interesting extra (but with an important drawback) is that there are measurements where the user can determine when they should be performed: either almost every moment or with a defined periodicity. For example, every minute, every five, every 10 or every half hour. The good thing is that the application gives you quite detailed information. That is appreciated.

Since I have trouble sleeping properly, I am very interested in the subject of sleep monitoring in this type of device. In the case of Amazfit GTR 3 Pro -in addition to being very comfortable to wear, especially when sleeping- provides a fairly detailed and accurate report. The cool thing is that you can even record any naps throughout the day. As with other teams, it also complements with advice and compares the scores with those obtained by other users.

How good a fitness tracking device is it? Pretty good. It has more than 150 sports modes, all accessible from the same watch, which include both outdoor and indoor activities. It has integrated GPS, which allows you to go for a walk, a run or a bike ride without having to take the Amazfit GTR 3 Pro with you. This is not quite a point once morest it, so I include it in this section: although the GPS is quite accurate, it takes a while to activate, but then it keeps working without problems.

As for its autonomy, I found it within what was expected. Even offering a little more than its direct competition. Although the manufacturer’s offer is for 12 days, that will depend on how many features you keep active. For regular use, its autonomy is around 10 days without problems. With GPS always on, the battery can last half as long. Recharging will take a little less than two hours (half an hour charges more than 50%). Note: it is compatible with iOS, from version 12, and with Android, from version 7.

To consider

It’s a big model (46mm), so it’s going to be much better if you can test it (or at least see it) before you buy it. Despite this, the watch case is not very thick and, in general, it does not weigh much. It’s quite comfortable, and that’s key if you want to keep it on for sleep monitoring.

What’s up with the music? You can control your Spotify account seamlessly, though not download the songs. Can you upload MP3 music to it? Yes. Can you answer voice calls? Yes. Do you receive notifications? Yes, but you can’t answer them. Even, you can only see the notification and you cannot, for example, read the full content of a received email. There is still a problem showing emojis in notifications.

That I did not like

It comes with a silicone strap, which was a bit flimsy for me. The good feeling that your screen leaves loses points when the glass you use is a fingerprint magnet

As expected, the longer the sensors stay on and recording data, the faster the battery will drain. The same thing happens when we do not deactivate the GPS. Although it allows answering calls, does not have eSIM.

How much?

The Amazfit GTR 3 Pro It has a regular price of S / 1,499, but it is reduced to S / 899 in Hiraoka.

Is the Amazfit GTR 3 Pro worth considering as a new smartwatch?

After my experience with this device, I think so. It has some subtle differences with its competitors, especially in terms of configuration, customization, great detail of the data collected and a not inconsiderable autonomy.

Although it still has a ceiling to improve, with everything it offers today and taking into account the price at which it can be found, the Amazfit GTR 3 Pro is a recommended alternative.
