It was the big surprise of the weekend. On the evening of Sunday August 6, 2023, Amandine Pellissard gave birth to her ninth child. It is a little girl named Maéna who has shown the tip of her nose with a lot of advance. “Maéna… We were expecting you in November… And here you are on August 6, 2023 at 9:22 p.m.! I hear your first cry. You come into the world at 26 SA + 2 days“, she announced, sharing the first photos.

Since then, Amandine Pellissard gives news as soon as she can. And, Monday evening, she took the time to express herself in an Instagram story with her husband Alexandre by her side. “We land slowly. All these last days have been a little fast and brutal, but in any case, the little mother is really brave, she is exceptional. She is not intubated, she just has a small oxygen mask, she digests food well, she is well toned. So it’s great because this birth was so anxiety-provoking, we were so scared. Until she was born we were freaked out because we were being prepared for him to resuscitate her at birth, that she wouldn’t be breathing…and in fact not at all! I was able to give birth normally, without an epidural as I wanted, she breathed right away. But prematurity is another world. It’s something we didn’t know and we realize that we are clearly not alone. And the teams are exceptional“, she said gratefully.

There’s still a long way to go

Things are also moving in the right direction since Amandine Pellissard was delighted to be able to do her “first skin to skin“with her tiny baby right following she spoke.”So here it is, for a baby who was born at six months pregnant, it’s going as well as it can go. As long as it lasts and then anyway, we’re going to accompany him to the end on this journey. There is still a long way to go but I have confidence in my daughter, in the healthcare team and we will take care of her.“, she added.

However, surveillance is essential, both for Maéna and for her mother. “As the bag of my waters was pierced, there is a rather high risk of infection so I still have antibiotics to take intravenously“, she revealed, revealing her perfused arm. For her baby, “it should be finer”, she specified. And to conclude: “I think I’ll be home in a week and I’ll come to my baby every day.”
