Amag receives a major order from Audi

Amag has been working with the Volkswagen subsidiary for almost two decades. The major order, for which Amag does not mention the volume or duration of the order in a press release, involves ASI-certified aluminum that is installed in vehicles. The certification (Aluminium Stewardship Initiative) stands for responsible production and processing.

The components are processed at the Audi factory in Györ, Hungary. Years ago, an agreement was made with Amag to return the aluminum scrap resulting from production into the value chain and recycle it in Ranshofen.

“The largest order success to date with our long-standing customer Audi is a pleasing confirmation of our quality and reliability,” Helmut Kaufmann, CEO of Amag, is quoted as saying in a press release. Kaufmann has been at the head of the group since the beginning of the year; as reported, he replaced Gerald Mayer, who will become the new head of finance at voestalpine.
