About 14 exhibitors will highlight their activities in the field of additive manufacturing during the Precision Fair. The fair will have an AM for Precision theme square, in addition to an entire lecture track dedicated to the technology.
One of the most recent developments in the high-tech manufacturing industry is the increasing interest in additive manufacturing. While a few years ago this breakthrough was mainly expected from the design side, OEMs are now seeing that OEMs are having assemblies 3D printed as one component due to capacity problems in the supply chain.
Investments by suppliers
In recent years, almost all Tier 1 suppliers have invested in their own AM systems. The driving force behind this development is ASML, which wants more 3D printed parts. A total of 14 exhibitors will show why 3D printing can play a role in the high-tech industry and how they themselves embed the technology in their production processes. Participants in the theme square include De Valk Additive, now part of Anvil Group, and FMI Additive, which has made the step into the semicon market this year, as an expansion of its 3D printing activities for the medical industry. Renishaw will be on the theme square as a technology provider and will mainly present the possibilities of the Quantum software. Buhlmann Additive shows the technology of Desktop Metal.
