Annan and the Netherlands Federation had different views on how to improve team cooperation and culture.
The Netherlands Field Hockey Coach Alyson Annan, that won gold at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in the final against Argentina (3-1), she was fired this Wednesday after an investigation by psychological abuse of female players.

“The federation and the selector differ in the approach of the current process to improve cooperation and group culture,” said the Royal Netherlands Hockey Federation (KNHB) in a statement.
Annan herself said in the KNHB statement that “there is no difference of opinion on what can be improved, but on how to tackle it”, that is to say, that her vision to solve the problem does not coincide with that of the federation.
