Alvaro Carpe claimed the first Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup victory at Motorland Aragón on Saturday afternoon. The young Spaniard managed to stay just ahead of Valentin Perrone after the restart. Brian Uriarte came third and completed the podium.

After finishing every session fastest this weekend, Alvaro Carpe made good use of his pole position and held the lead ahead of Brian Uriarte and Veda Pratama. In the first lap, things went wrong for several drivers, including Marco Morelli, Joel Pons and Kristian Daniel.
Uriarte and Carpe opened up a small gap to the rest of the group. Máximo Quiles managed to close the gap on the second lap and moved into second position. With eight laps to go, a red flag was brought out due to Evan Belford’s crash. All riders were conscious. The restart was set to take place in five laps.
At the restart, Uriarte started from pole and managed to hold the lead ahead of Pratama and Perrone. Quiles crashed after contact on the first lap and his chances of winning the title seemed to be gone. At the front, Capre, Perrone and Uriarte started to pull away. With four laps to go, Carpe made a mistake and dropped back to third position. Hakim Danish was given a double long lap penalty for the contact with Quiles.
In the last three laps Carpe, Uriarte and Perrone swapped positions several times and after an exciting last lap Alvaro Carpe managed to convert his strong race into victory with only 0.026 ahead of Valentin Perrone. Brian Uriarte was on a small gap in the last lap but came close to second place in the last lap. Quiles crashed a second time.
