Asuncion, IP Agency.- The Presidente Franco District Hospital, in the Alto Paraná department, will inaugurate this Friday its child development space for children with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder).

This is a space refurbished with resources from Itaipu Binacional, with support from the Ministry of Health and the Tesãi Foundation. The facility will provide multidisciplinary care, led by professionals specialized in early development, to children with this disorder (as well as family members), in order to provide a timely response and achieve social inclusion.

The refurbished block has an independent external access, which will guarantee greater well-being for children with ASD. Among the main works carried out, with the support of the Binational, are the complete repainting of the block, both internally and externally, the construction of walkways and the remodelling of the existing bathroom.

The head of the Itaipu Office in Ciudad del Este, Miriam Areco, explained that the initiative is closely supported by professionals from the aforementioned State portfolio and Tesãi, who provide the technical specifications necessary for early childhood development.

He added that the project had the support of the national deputy Rocío Abed, who had proposed investing in the site, in addition to closely following the building renovation work.

The newly refurbished centre will provide specialised care and collaborate with educational communities to foster a more inclusive society in the country’s tenth department.
