The head of the organization of the National Front for the Defense of the Constitution spoke, this Tuesday, February 28, 2023, on the rapprochement between Anad, the Fndc-politique and the Fndc. In this interview, the activist also talks regarding the exit of Alpha Condé and the planned demonstration on March 9. Read!
Guinee360.com: Many people are wondering regarding the opportunity of the merger between the Fndc, Anad, UFR and Alpha Condé. Aren’t you afraid of being manipulated by them?
Alseny Farinta Camara: We do not comment on biases. The objective is to ensure that the population of Conakry descends massively, next March 9, to demand respect for the Charter of the transition and also the commitments made by Colonel Doumbouya. When he took power, he said that justice was going to be the compass of the transition, today, this compass is disoriented. The mistakes of the past have resurfaced. Mamady Doumbouya must return to reason, to respect the fundamental principles of democracy in order to get this country out of this impasse.
From Turkey, Alpha calls for the ousting of the junta led by Mamadi Doumbouya. What do you think ?
We have nothing to do with Pr Alpha Condé. We do not wish to personalize the debate. For us, the Guinean stake is more important. So the release of Alpha Condé is a non-event and that only involves his person.
The Prime Minister announced the reopening of the dialogue. Will you participate?
We are not amusing the gallery. We have always called for dialogue in this country. So a dialogue chaired by the Prime Minister does not concern us. And this only concerns members of the government, the Cnt and the Cnrd.
Some believe that the demonstrations will delay the progress of the 24-month transition schedule. What do you think ?
These are allegations, the protests have nothing to do with it.
If the junta asked you to postpone the demonstration to give dialogue a chance, would you accept?
We are seekers of dialogue. Our wish today that the CNRD return to the fundamental principles of democracy and above all the rule of law and that the commitments that Mamady Doumbouya made when he took power on September 5, 2021 are respected. So, if he calls us today to a framework for dialogue, nothing will prevent us from coming and especially if it will be chaired by the international community.
