Already the 5th NT1 at Rode

If there is a classic that needs no introduction in recent years, it is the Rode NT1. And the manufacturer has just announced the forthcoming release of the 5th generation of this microphone. The NT1 5th Generation benefits from the new Dual Connect technology (patent pending) which offers both an analog audio output on XLR and a digital output in 24 or 32 bit and 48/96/192 kHz on USB-C. For the rest of the features, here is a non-exhaustive list:

  • One-inch large-diaphragm HF5 capsule, sprayed gold
  • A cardioid polar pattern
  • A frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz
  • An output impedance of 100 Ohms
  • Un SPL max de 142 dB SPL
  • A signal-to-noise ratio of 4 dBA

This new mic also features DSP for advanced Aphex audio processing, including compressor, noise gate, two-stage low-cut filter, and Aural Exciter and Big Bottom effects. It comes with a suspension, a pop filter, a USB cable, an XLR cable, and a storage pouch. Count $249 manufacturer price for this NT1 5th Generation, expected next March.
