The Alpine team will bring a special livery design to celebrate the release of the Deadpool & Wolverine film at the Belgian GP at the Spa-Francorchamps Circuit this weekend.

In a departure from their usual racing car designs, Alpine’s two drivers this season, Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon, will be driving cars in red and black, inspired by the identical colors of the Deadpool character.

The car’s appearance is made more striking by the presence of yellow claw marks that signify the distinctive color of the X-Men character Wolverine with his iconic yellow-blue suit.

Quoted from the official Formula 1 website, Friday (26/7), Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds is part of a group of investors behind the 200 million euro cash injection for Alpine last year.

He is one of the people who is determined to advance the team’s ambitions in the Formula 1 racing class.

The Enstone-based squad will be hoping their new look can help them bounce back from a difficult weekend last time out in Hungary.

Gasly and Ocon qualified at the back of the grid after a strategic error from the team ultimately resulted in them not doing a final run in Q1.

Gasly then started the race from the pit lane due to a change in set-up and power unit elements on his car. However, he was later forced to retire from the race due to a suspected hydraulic issue.

Meanwhile, Ocon finished in 18th place at the Hungarian GP last weekend.

The first day of the Belgian GP on Friday (26/7) will be filled with two free practice sessions (FP) starting at 18.30 WIB. Next, Saturday (27/7), FP3 and qualifying will roll at 17.30 WIB and 21.00 WIB respectively.

The main race was held on Sunday (28/7) at 20.00 WIB. (Ant/Z-1)
