The Swiss got off to an ideal start to their weekend at home in Wengen. Stefan Rogentin, 2nd, signed his first podium in the World Cup while the inevitable Marco Odermatt took 3rd place in a super-G won by Aleksander Aamodt Kilde.
Beaten last year by Marco Odermatt, Kilde took out a gala ski to pay for his 18th World Cup victory, the 9th in the discipline.
If the duel between the 2 best skiers of the season took place, a man managed to slip between the 2 extraterrestrials of alpine skiing: Graubünden Stefan Rogentin. At ease on the Lauberhorn, the 28-year-old athlete completed an almost perfect race to fail 0.27 behind Kilde. But above all, Graubünden won its first podium in the World Cup. “Rogi” confirmed his 7th place from Bormio.
Odermatt moins saignant, Feuz 7e
A little less bloody than usual, Marco Odermatt had to admit defeat by 0”66. The Nidwalden rocket will try to recover on Saturday during the descent.
For one of his last races on one of his favorite tracks, Beat Feuz did pretty well with a 7th place. The overall performance of the Swiss is also excellent with 7 athletes in the top-14.
Behind Feuz, we find Gino Caviezel in 8th place, Loïc Meillard in 9th, Justin Murisier in 11th and Niels Hintermann in 14th. A magnificent overall result on a track with a changing surface between aggressive snow on the top and softer on the bottom.
