Alpine skiing: Norwegian double, Loïc Meillard at the foot of the podium

Second following the first heat, Loïc Meillard finally finished 4th in the Adelboden slalom. Norway signed a double with the victory of Lucas Braathen and the 2nd place of Atle Lie McGrath.

Loïc Meillard lacked a little something. One hundredth. With this hundredth, the Valaisan would have been picking his 4th podium of the winter, but he did not have the hundredths on his side.

I can only blame myself, I didn’t make a good wall“, explained the runner from Hérémence at the microphone of the RTS.A 4th place is good, but at home it hurts.

Good overall result for the Swiss

The overall result of the Swiss in Adelboden on Sunday remains good. Ramon Zenhäusern regained confidence to finish 8th. Excellent 7th at Garmisch, Marc Rochat confirmed his current good spirits by taking 9th place.

Not really enthusiastic regarding the snow conditions, Daniel Yule had to “do the best”. The skier from Val Ferret fell somewhat in the standings following his 9th place on the initial route to take 11th place. Fifth ranked Swiss, Luca Aerni finished 22nd. 19th at Garmsich, Tanguy Nef on the other hand once once more offered his worst face when he left during the second heat.
