Corinne Suter is giving up competing in the downhill and super-G scheduled for Saturday and Sunday in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Swiss-Ski announced in a press release. The Schwytzoise fell heavily on Friday during the first descent.
Medical examinations carried out in Cortina did not reveal any serious injuries. But the Olympic champion and downhill world champion still does not feel 100% and prefers not to take part in the races scheduled for Saturday and Sunday as a precaution. His state of health will be reassessed next week, underlines Swiss-Ski.
Corinne Suter should therefore no longer compete in any race before the Courchevel / Méribel Worlds (February 6-19), where the first downhill training is scheduled for Tuesday February 7. Only technical events are still on the program until then, at Plan de Corones and Spindleruv Myn.
