Alpine F1 unveiled the F1 machine “A522” that will participate in the 2022 F1 World Championship.
In the 2022 season, which is the second year since the brand was changed from Renault to Alpine, the team welcomed Austrian water treatment company BWT as the title sponsor and participated as “BWT Alpine F1 Team”. The new car “A522” has been given the pink coloring that is characteristic of BWT’s sponsorship.
Alpine has been developing engines for the introduction of new regulations since the Renault era. With the postponement of the new coronavirus, the new regulation has been postponed for one year, and the new F1 engine that was originally planned to be introduced is fully released. Like Mercedes and Honda, it uses a split turbo system.
Former Aston Martin Otmar Safnauer joins as a new team representative. Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon will be the drivers for the second year.
