Franz Tost, Scuderia AlphaTauri’s F1 team representative, does not believe that Pierre Guthrie’s team transfer will necessarily raise him to the top of the F1 grid.
With Sergio Perez’s current one-year contract expiring in 2022, Piel Guthrie is working hard to get a second chance at Red Bull Racing.
Franz Tost, Scuderia AlphaTauri’s team representative, is not angry with the ambitions of 26-year-old Pierre Guthrie.
“He is experienced and fast, and grew up at the Red Bull Academy,” Franz Tost told formel1.de.
“That’s why I completely agree with that set of ideas.”
“Guthrie can compete on the front line if he has a competitive car.”
But Franz Tost says it’s too early to talk about Pierre Guthrie’s next move, as Red Bull has postponed its 2022 lineup decision until the end of this summer.
“The conversation hasn’t happened with me yet,” Franz Tost said.
“He has a contract. Be careful in that area.”
“AlphaTauri is a good team for him,” Franz Tost added.
“We’re not at the top, but we’re constantly improving, and not all other teams are much better than us.”
