The 27th edition of the Alpe d’Huez international comedy film festival will take place from January 15 to 21 in the Isère resort. Find out everything you need to know regarding this French cinema event.

Alpe d’Huez is hosting the 27th edition of the international comedy film festival from January 15. For a week, until the awards ceremony on Sunday January 21, the Isère resort will live to the rhythm of screenings and meetings. Here is all the information you need to know regarding the event.

The evening of Monday January 15 will be dedicated to the opening ceremony organized in the large hall of the station palace. It will be broadcast live to the public present in the other rooms of the town from 7:15 p.m., before the screening of the opening film Retirement Home 2 at 20 hours.

From the next day, Tuesday January 16 and until January 20, at least three screenings are organized every day. Films in competition and out of competition, special screenings… In total, around fifteen feature films will be revealed to the public. To this must be added a few rebroadcasts and “retropepits” organized throughout the event. For example, on Wednesday January 17 at 5 p.m., The world of Nemo will be rebroadcast at the resort’s indoor swimming pool for spectators in swimsuits with their feet in the water.

The latest films will be screened during the day of Saturday January 20. The awards ceremony will take place on Sunday January 21 in the followingnoon.

Around President Valérie Bonneton (Les Petits Mouchoirs, Eyjafjallajökull, La Ch’tite Famille), four actors were selected to form the jury for this 27th edition. Among them is the young actress and director Marilou Berry (Our Happy, Naughty Days). The actress Eye Haïdara (The Meaning of Celebration, Two Months, The Forgotten Prince) will come for the first time to the Alpe d’Huez festival.

They will be accompanied by actor Guillaume de Tonquédec (First name, Barbecue, Coexist) and the young promise of French cinema Finnegan Oldfield (The Promise of Dawn, Cut!, Vermin). All succeed the jury of the 26th edition made up of Camille Chamoux, Bérangère Krief, Antoine Bertrand as well as Stéphane Foenkinos and chaired by Karin Viard.

The jury of the 27th edition will have the mission of finding the new “Grand Prix” of the Alpe d’Huez festival. In total, ten films are entered in the official competition. Among them are We, the Leroysdirected by Florent Bernard, with Charlotte Gainsbourg and José Garcia, or even Here and therea comedy carried by the comedy duo Ahmed Sylla and Hakim Jemili.

The Alpe d’Huez festival is, as usual, open to the general public. No accreditation, invitation or entry ticket must be collected to attend the various events and screenings, with the exception of the gala sessions. However, it is advisable to arrive at the various festival rooms (Grande salle du Palais, Ciné’Isère room, Philippe de Broca room, Belledonne room) at least 30 to 45 minutes before the start of the screenings.
