The vagueness surrounding the future of the Montreal Alouettes might lead to a major loss.

The star receiver shared a clip from the famous press conference of Allen Iverson, who said he might win no matter what team he was on. The star player was then at the heart of trade rumors following being named NBA MVP.
Lewis was named the East Division MVP last year following catching 91 receptions for 1,303 yards and 10 touchdowns. He was also helpful in the playoffs, catching 12 passes for 181 yards in two games.
There have reportedly been negotiations in recent weeks between Alouettes general manager Danny Maciocia and self-representing Eugene Lewis. However, the receiver’s Twitter outing suggests a stalemate between the two sides. Maciocia recently indicated that there is interest on both sides to come to an agreement.
With the departure of chairman Mario Cecchini leaving the position vacant and uncertainty surrounding the management of the team, including the responsibilities of minority shareholder Gary Stern, Lewis called the team’s situation ” shit show ».
“I don’t think it was a good thing to let Mario go,” Lewis said in an interview with TSN’s Dave Naylor. There have been four different presidents at this club since I have been here, and he is the one who has accomplished the most. He brought more people to the stadium, especially children. »
He would have liked to get involved in the organization’s activities off the field such as marketing, but the management is unable to respond to his request, not knowing who to turn to.
“I don’t think everyone is on the same page, and I’m not getting answers. Since the end of the last season that I expressed the wish to be more involved beyond football, but no one among the [gros noms de l’équipe] does not receive answers,” he lamented.
Lewis was the third-highest-paid receiver in the CFL last year, just behind Duke Williams and Kenny Lawler.
He admitted that he will have an important choice to make when the market opens on February 14 if the situation has not been corrected by then. He has many unanswered questions regarding the future of the organization.
“It’s a game of patience at this point. We have to wait and see what will happen with the presidency and the status of the owners, he explained with resignation. It’s unfortunate that it happened like this because it’s difficult to recruit other guys. If I can’t provide them with the answers to their questions, they will be skeptical. For people outside the organization, it’s not serious. »
