Yesterday followingnoon Edesur had issued a statement in which it apologized to its customers for the failures and pointed out that the company’s technical teams were working “hard” to restore service throughout the day.

The electricity supply company said yesterday that the failures occurred “due to the high demand to which the network is subjected as a result of high temperatures” and the peak demand.

“The heat wave of the last few days, with maximums that touched 38 ° and minimums of 30 ° at night, generated stress in the electrical system of the concession area. On Wednesday, CAMMESA reported that a nationwide consumption record was set due to the heat. The demand reached 27,088 MW, which generated an over-demand on the electrical system ”, they explained from Edesur.

“The biggest inconveniences in our network were detected especially in some neighborhoods of the Federal Capital, those that suffered longer cuts. This is due to the fact that in that area of the concession area the laying is underground, so detecting the fault and its corresponding repair takes longer than in areas with an overhead network ”, the company detailed yesterday.
