Drunk and without a license, a man drove through the city of Salzburg in a stranger’s car on Tuesday evening. The alcohol trip ended with a display.
The Salzburg police officers were quite astonished when a snaking car approached them on Tuesday evening at the Ignaz-Rieder-Kai. The officers stopped the driver, a 32-year-old from Salzburg, and carried out an alcohol test. The result: unbelievable 2.72 per thousand!

But that’s not all. During the identity check, it turned out that the man was driving without a valid driver’s license. The car is said to have belonged to another person. According to the police, the drunk is said to have put the vehicle into operation without the knowledge of the actual owner. The key was given to her by the officials.
It is not known how the man managed to get behind the wheel and start the car. In any case, the driver was not allowed to continue his journey. The police filed a complaint with the public prosecutor’s office for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
Drug traffickers busted
Shortly following midnight, officers noticed another driver who also had major problems staying in lane. In the area of the southern exit, the officials managed to stop the 21-year-old driver. A breathalyser test was negative. However, the subsequent rapid drug test was positive for THC. The young man from Salzburg has now lost his driver’s license. He was forbidden to continue his journey and a report was filed.
