The 5-in-1 vaccine doses were donated to Vietnam by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), for the expanded childhood immunization program.

As soon as it arrived in Vietnam, this batch of vaccine had to go through testing procedures. On Monday August 14, the National Institute for the Control of Vaccines and Medical Biological Products provided test results.

Previously, 72,300 doses of the 5-in-1 vaccine had been allocated to 14 northern mountainous provinces, through national funding for immunization in August. Thus, all of the country’s 63 provinces and cities can carry out childhood vaccination in August and September.

The 5 in 1 vaccine is used for children from 2 months to less than 18 months, whose immunization is incomplete once morest diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, hepatitis B and Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib).
