PDIP DPP Chairman Said Abdullah emphasized that the planned meeting between PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri and Gerindra Party General Chair Prabowo Subianto was not for the purpose of supporting each other.

“It’s not a matter of supporting each other, because this is indeed the result of the leadership of both Mrs. Megawati and Mr. Prabowo Subianto. It’s in the interests of the nation, so they will definitely meet,” said Said at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday (10/9/2024).

The chairman of the DPR Budget Agency (Banggar) also asked that it not be concluded that Prabowo and Gibran Rakabuming Raka would join the government coalition.

“Don’t be drawn into joining and not joining, the most important thing is the meeting of these two national figures,” said Said.

Previously, PDIP DPP Chair Puan Maharani responded to the planned meeting between Megawati Soekarnoputri and Prabowo Subianto. The meeting was reportedly before the inauguration of the president and vice president-elect on October 20, 2024.

“God willing,” said Puan at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, September 10, 2024.

Puan has not revealed the exact time of the meeting. The DPR Speaker asked for patience. “Yes, later when the time comes, media friends will definitely know,” said Puan. (Fah/P-3)
