Alliance achieves the crown 17 after beating the Eagle

Narcissus Orellana scored in the final penalty and Alianza achieved its national football crown 17. In a match that had to go to extra time and that ended in the 90s 1-1, it was the pachyderm team that took gold from the penalty shootout to add the crown that now places it as the second most winning team in the history.

Much credit to Alianza. The people from the capital played almost the entire game with one less and even so they reached the tie that served to end the morale of an Águila that did not find an answer despite the advantage and ended up giving in in the last minutes. The residents of the capital celebrate one more Salvadoran soccer title in the last decade.

Alianza was the first to warn regarding Benji Villalobos’s goal in eight minutes following a shot with effect by Juan Carlos Portillo that the feathered goalkeeper sent to the corner kick.

It was difficult for the migueleños to get into the rhythm of the game and a lot had to do with Alianza’s insistence, which was more comfortable on the pitch despite the rain that fell on the pitch at Cuscatlán.

At 14′ Tamacas had one more following leaving the mark of two defenders but the ball hit the post with the shot.

The insistence of the inhabitants of the capital continued. Benji Villalobos became the figure in the first quarter of an hour when the pachyderms were more solid and turned on the opposite field.

In 27 minutes, Rodolfo Zelaya also had his chance following leaving two defenders on the ground and testing Marco, but on the line Kevin Melara sent the shot wide but the Alliance siege continued.

The game was stopped in 33 minutes following Alianza fans threw objects on the corner that Gerson Mayén was going to take and had to be resumed five minutes later.

GOALS

In the Alliance plugin it did not move anything. However, it was once more evident that the finals are defined with small details and Águila confirmed it.

At 57′ Kevin Santamaría made a penalty charge following a foul in the area that also meant the expulsion of Iván Mancía following the second yellow card following the foul on Edgar Medrano.

With the expulsion, ‘Tigana’ opted for Mario Jacobo to reinforce the defensive defense instead of Ezequiel Rivas, who until then played on the left wing. It was not the only change because at 70′ Arizala came in for Jiménez to team up with Zelaya and exhaust the offensive changes.

For Águila, Jairo Henríquez arrived to give the last offensive impulse to rest Santamaría. The bet did not work out because an error in Miguel’s defense allowed the own goal that encouraged the pachyderm team that would go out to look for the comeback.

The 90 minutes ended with a 1-1 draw and there was extra time but the game continued without options for anyone and everything had to be decided from the penalty shootout. There Alianza took advantage, Narciso Orellana scored the last and the albos achieved their 17th crown.
