Allen achieves personal best and equals franchise record with 9 triples; Suns beat Heat 113-97

PHOENIX (AP) — Grayson Allen scored 31 points and made a career-high nine 3-pointers to tie Phoenix’s franchise record, Bradley Beal added 25 points and the Suns beat the Miami Heat 113-97 on Friday.

The Suns have won five of their last six games. Miami has fallen in three of its last four.

Allen was sensational in the first half, scoring 23 points on 7 of 10 attempts from outside the perimeter. The sixth-year player was acquired via trade in the offseason, and came into the game averaging a career-high 13 points. He finished 9 of 14 on three-pointers and 11 of 19 on field goals.

Phoenix stretched its lead to 94-75 heading into the fourth quarter and maintained a double-digit lead the rest of the night. Beal was 11 of 18 from the field, and added eight rebounds along with nine assists. Devin Booker scored 20 points and had 10 assists.

Bam Adebayo led Miami with 28 points and 11 rebounds. Kevin Love added 20 points. Tyler Herro had a tough night making 4 of 17 shots. The Heat shot just 41% from the field.

The Suns played without Kevin Durant, who has missed three straight games with right hamstring tightness. Miami’s Jimmy Butler (foot) also was out for the sixth time in seven games.
