The Twitter account “Palestine News” was blown up with a particularly brazen attempt to fake it. The anti-Israel activists posted a picture showing six hooded prisoners being tortured with their hands tied. The text: “This is how the Palestinian prisoners are treated in the prisons of the Israeli occupation. Where are the human rights!?”
The propaganda tweet has been viewed over 100,000 times. Insults rained down on Israel: “demons” were at work here, “torturers” and “terrorists”.

But the scene that looks like something out of a movie – is from a movie! “Ghost Hunting” is the name of the Palestinian work that received a prize at the 2017 Berlinale. Numerous users expose the fake post.
Such performances are not unique. The Palestinian side has repeatedly been criticized for its manipulative media work, in which staged scenes, recordings taken out of context and sometimes even images from other countries are used in order to influence the public.
